Rajinikanth-Aishwarya Rai starrer Robo which tasted phenominal success is now facing a copy cat allegation against its story.
Tamil writer Aroor Tamilnadan (pen name – Amudha Tamilnadan) filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner on Monday, claiming his copyright to the original story of Robo. He says that Robo’s plot was copied from a short story penned by him under the title Jughiba, published in a Tamil magazine Iniya Udhayam in April 1996, and again in a book Thik, Thik Deepika in 2007.
Producing printed copies of both publications as proof, he petitioned the police to take action under section 63 of the Indian Copyrights Act.
