Collector Gari Bharya Movie Review
Collector Gari Bharya is a film about women’s rights and the male domination in familial dimension with a veiled social message.
Indira (Bhumika) is an MBA and a topper and has her own aims in life. Owing to parental pressures, she marries Gautham (Prakash Raj) who is an IAS officer. Indira settles down to be a good house wife. Trouble starts when she gives birth to girl children and Gautham is paranoid about having a male child. Things move in such a manner that Indira decides to become the champion of women’s rights. How Indira and Gautham resolve their differences forms the rest of the story.
Both Prakash Raj and Bhumika give riveting performances. They carry the
film on their able shoulders. Tanikella and Parachuri are adequate. The comedy brigade gives a few laughs. The rest of the cast are ok.
The theme is lofty and the story follows the regular commercial format. Screenplay has its own pitfalls that hamper the narration. The dialogues are good in parts. Music is good but some songs appear breaking the story flow. Cinematography is good.
Collector Gari Bharya is an average fare and only the performances of Prakash Raj and Bhumika are the saving grace.
