Click Hindi Movie Review
Click deals with the age old spirits with a vengeance theme which conspire to arrive in the present times and harass the alleged perpetrator of her untimely death.
A young photographer (Shreyas Talpade) has a live-in relationship with his fashion model girlfriend (Sada). Being a professional shutter bug, he takes beautiful pictures and when they are processed in the dark room, a woman from his past appears mysteriously in the photo prints. The woman (Sneha Ullal) was his contemporary in college and has grievance against him because he did not proceed with a relationship with her after a one night stand. Will the spirit of Ullal finally take revenge on the photographer? Will the spirit succeed in pulling away the cameraman’s girl friend? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.
Shreyas Talpade gives a credible performance. Sada has a meaty role and does well. Sneha Ullal is convincing. Chunky Pandey portrays his role with conviction. Rehan Khan is OK.
Director Sangeeth Sivan earlier made Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Apna Sapna Money Money, Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne and Ek – the Power of One. With click he enters the horror genre. The screenplay particularly interspersed with song and dance sequences does not give any chills. Some of the essential elements of horror genre are sadly missing, particularly visual special effects. Cinematography by Ramji and the sound design by Parikshit Lalvani remain as the saving grace of the film.
Click fails to click as a horror film because the scary scenes are scarce.
