Chiranjeevi: No more films; Will become CM
Chiranjeevi has announced that he is quitting to act in films as people want to see him as Chief Minister in real life. This has sparked speculation that Chiranjeevi, whose Praja Rajyam Party is poised to merge with Congress in two weeks, has been assured by Congress high command that he will be given an important position in the party or state/union cabinet. Many political analysts say that Chiranjeevi will lead the Congress party in 2014 elections.
Chiranjeevi said that he will be active in full time politics and will take care of people’s welfare programmes through the policies of the Congress. His statement assumes significance in view of the threat from YS Jagan faction and also the impending decision on the vexed Telangana issue. Moreover, Chiranjeevi’s claim to become CM will also keep the present incumbent Kiran Kumar Reddy on tenter hooks.
Chiranjeevi also stated that his son Ram Charan Tej will take care of the films and its affairs.
