Children’s Film Festival starts Today
The 16th International Children’s Film Festival opens today in Hyderabad and concludes on November 20. Nandita Das, chair-person of Children’s Film Society of India says that 70 films from 22 countries will be screened during the festival. An international jury will select the best film which will be awarded the Golden Elephant.
There will also be a workshop for delegates on children’s films and an open forum for film makers to discuss ideas.
Evalds Lacis’ “New Species” from Latvia, Christian Ditter’s “The Crocodiles” from Germany and Pavel Fattahutdinor’s “The Twelfth Summer” from Russia will compete in the International segment.
Dong Ling “Two Men’s Classroom” and Xitizhati Yahefu’s “Mai Mai Ti’s 2008” from China and Dhiraj Meshram’s “The Lost Rainbow” from India will be screened in the Asian Panorama.
Hyderabad Doordarshan Kendra will telecast live the 16th International Children’s Film Festival’s opening ceremony here on November 14 from 5 to 8 p.m.
