Filmmaker Prakash Jha received an invitation to premiere his upcoming film Chakravyuh at the prestigious London Film Festival in October. The film was originally planned to release on October 5, but now postponed to October 12 as the world premiere at the LFF is scheduled for October 10.
Chakravyuh stars Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol, Manoj Bajpayee, Kabir Bedi and Esha Gupta. The film deals with the vexed issue of Naxalism. It is the story of two best friends: Adil (Arjun Rampal) and Kabir (Abhay Deol) and one of them goes away to join the naxalites..
Prakash Jha always focuses on social issues but his films do have a good run at the box office also. He is the recipient of 8 National Film Awards and 3 Filmfare Awards. His best known films are Damul(1984), Mrityudand (1997), Gangaajal (2003) and Apaharan (2005). His recent films Rajneeti and Aarakshan also dealt with socio-political issues.
