Indian film industry is slowly making inroads into the vast Chinese market. Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots, Shah Rukh Khan’s My Name Is Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara were released in China with sub-titles.
Now, last year’s hit film Delhi Belly starring Imran Khan is releasing in China. To tap the Chinese market to its optimum potential, the filmmakers have dubbed the film in Cantonese. It will hit the Hong Kong theatres on May 10.
Amrita Pandey, Senior Vice President, International Distribution and Syndication, UTV Motion Pictures said Hong Kong has a large young local and expat population who may patronise the film .
Incidentally, Delhi Belly has done good business in cities like London, Singapore, Dubai, New York, Sydney and Melbourne.
