Brindavanam is a tale of an impersonation for helping out a friend which sours midway and the evolving drama has many surprises.
Krishna (NTR Jr) is the son of a multi-millionaire (Mukhesh Rishi) and has the innate attitude of helping out his friends. He is in love with Indu (Samantha). A problem arises with Bhumi (Kajal Agarwal) , a friend of Indu, as she is forcibly getting married to her cousin (Ajay) by her father (Prakash Raj). Bhumi is interested in her studies and not willing to get married. Indu compels Krishna to impersonate as Bhumi’s lover to derail the arranged marriage. Bhumi tells her father that she does not want to marry her cousin as she is in love with Krishna. Her father wants to meet Krishna and he goes to Bhumi’s father’s house which is called Bridavanam.
How Krishna extricates himself from the complications while encountering some surprises which forms the rest of the story.
NTR Jr is very ebullient and performs very well. His dances and fights have mass appeal. Samantha and Kajal keep up the glamour quotient and also deliver their roles with conviction. Prakash Raj, Tanikella Bharani and Kota Srinivasa Rao live their roles. Brahmanandam, Venumadhav and Raghubabu tickle the funny bone. Ajay and Ahuthi Prasad are their usual selves. All others are adequate.
The story is well told with a screenplay that keeps the interest of the audience. The dialogues have punch. The humour is attractive. The music is good. Choreography is appealing. Action scenes are thrilling. Cinematography is vibrant. Production values are good.
In a typical commercial formula, Brindavanam is an entertaining film with NTR Jr doing all that is expected of him.
