The film “Fruit & Nut” directed by debutant Kunal Vijaykar has Boman Irani playing a mad man who should, in fact, be in a lunatic asylum. He is influenced by the British way of living and believes that he is still in 1821 and claims authority over Bombay his princely state that his forefather’s have ruled.
But in the film, Boman Irani refers to the city as Bombay as it was called during the British period. After Raj Thackarey’s political party MNS attacked Karan Johar’s film “Wake Up Sid” for using the word Bombay instead of Mumbai, the director Kunal added a scene where another character in “Fruit & Nut” corrects Boman Irani and tells him Bombay is now Mumbai.
“Fruit & Nut” also features Cyrus Brocha, Dia Mirza and Mahesh Manjrekar and is scheduled for release on October 23.
