The continuing stand-off between the producers of Bollywood and the multiplex owners is beginning to hurt the film industry.
Prolific filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt says that loss is inevitable because the want to gain what is described as just and equitable distribution of profits between producers and exhibitors.
Though, no number crunching has begun, the industry is expected to suffer colossal losses. Only in the month of April, if the strike is not resolved by April end, Bollywood, according to an analyst may incur a collective loss of Rs 500 Crores. The strike by producers commenced on April 4.
Meanwhile, the film crazy audience of India may shift to live action on TV as the IPL Twenty20 from April 18 to May 24.
