Bollywood producers Vs Mutiplexes row continues
The United Producers and Distributors Forum (UPDF), headed by veteran producer Mahesh Bhatt, held a 7-hour long meeting on Saturday making it very clear to producers to not release their films till the row with multiplex owners is resolved properly.
The UPDF also gave guidelines that no actor would work with producers who released their films in multiplexes before an agreement is reached in the ongoing dispute.
The Bollywood producers are said to be not against negotiating revenue-sharing but are against allowing multiplexes to decide the distribution pattern of film releases.
The UPDF has also demanded an upper limit on the number of shows of any one film at multiplexes. Producers and multiplex-owners are due to meet again on Monday.
