Bollywood Producers strike may end soonAccording to film trade sources, representatives of the United Producers and Distributors Association and national multiplex chains are to meet to arrive at a consensus on revenue-sharing for Hindi movies.
The stand-off between the concerned parties is being called off to ensure no delay in the release of the Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor-starrer ‘Kambakkht Ishq’, which was earlier slated for a May-end release. The strike was announced on Friday, April 4, a day after Akshay’s movie 8×10 Tasveer was released.
There were no major blockbusters, mega-budget and big-star cast movies scheduled to release so far during the strike period, but now many of them are ready and waiting to be released. In such circumstances, the strike has to be called off according to film industry sources.
