When Eega trailer went viral on the net, Bollywood sat up to take notice of the clever craftsmanship of SS Rajamouli in mixing animation with live action for a revenge story. The idea of the murdered hero taking a rebirth as a housefly and taking vengeance on the villain is very novel and very well executed, if the promos are any indication.
A section of Bollywood heard about Rajamouli after the buzz about Magadheera being remade in Hindi. But, now, after the super success of Rowdy Rathore, a remake of Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu, the director stands tall.
Meanwhile another film of Rajamouli, Maryada Ramanna, is being remade as Son Of Sardaar with Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha. Already there is a good buzz about this Ajay Devgn production. This film is being released by UTV Motion Pictures, the same studio that released Rowdy Rathore.
Now what happens after Eega gets released is anybody’s guess, because it has a Hindi version also in addition to Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
