Bipasha Basu wants to direct films
The dusky beauty from Kolkotha, Bipasha Basu, struggled and made it to the top as a heroine in Bollywood. She was first noticed in a music album of Sonu Nigam produced by Tips. Later she walked the ramp and did some TV Ads.
Bipasha got her break on screen in 2001 with Abbas Mustan’s Ajnabee, with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Kareena Kapoor. Some of her best known films are Aankhen, Jism, No Entry, Corporate, Dhoom and Race. She is a live-in companion of actor John Abraham.
The 30+ lady now wants to do some fantastic films, not being in front of the camera, but by being behind it, as a director. She says that she now understands the technical aspects of filmmaking like script, character, choreography, camera angles, editing, audiography and so on.
Better say best of luck Bipasha! We have seen “Fire” Deepa Mehta, “Shabd” Leena Yadav, “Firaaq” Nandita Das and “Zizou” Sooni Taraporevala. Who knows what Bips can do as a director?
