Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan feels himself honored to unveil the historic bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi in London along with other dignitaries who include British Prime Minister David Cameron and Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
At the occasion Big B read out an excerpt from Gandhi’s book ‘The World of Tomorrow’. He shared his feelings on twitter by posting, “A historic moment and a historic presence… I am honoured and humbled. The unveiling of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Parliament Square, London, and invited to read from his work.”
He added, “At the unveiling the respect and dignity given… So humbling. David Cameron, Arun Jaitley, Gopal Gandhi and self on stage! Honour.”
The ‘Shamitabh’ actor posted many pictures from the occasion and he wrote, “My 4th visit to historic 10, Downing Street… The meeting with the PM of GB, and walking with him and other dignitaries to event! Walking through the portals of the Foreign Office of the Commonwealth, once the largest power house of the World ! Incredible feel.”
Mahatma Gandhi’s statue is stationed at the London’s Parliament Square along with many prominent leaders from the world including like former British prime minister Winston Churchill and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela.
