Big B’s The Last Lear premiere cancelled after MNS violence

The followers of Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Wednesday resorted to violence at a PVR cinema in Juhu, Mumbai, leading to the premiere of The Last Lear being cancelled citing security reasons. The star cast of the film includes Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal and others.

Posters, plasma television sets and some property of the box office window of the cinema hall were destroyed by the unruly agitating mob.

Raj Thackeray had threatened to prevent the release of films starring Bachchans in the state over the anti-Marathi remarks by Jaya Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan tendered an apology in his blog.
