Though Sanjay Leela Bhansali bought the Hindi remake rights of Vikramarkudu to make Rowdy Rathore, which is now declared a blockbuster in the making, he had to shell down a whopping Rs 50 lakhs for the rights of the Chintata Chita song.
The song was originally composed by MM Keeravani and the tune and the first few words of the lyric have been remixed for Rowdy Rathore and the song has now become a national favourite. Aditya Music who have the audio rights of Vikramarkudu initiated legal proceedings against Bhansali for copyright violation.
In an out of court settlement, it is reported that Bhansali settled the matter with Aditya Music by paying Rs 50 lakhs, thus paving the way for the smooth release of Rowdy Rathore.
