Anurag Basu’s Barfi!, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz, has made it to the elite Rs 100 crore club, just two days after it is selected as India’s official entry for this years Oscars. The film collected Rs 58.6 crores in the first week.
The film was made with a budget of Rs 30 crores and has been critically acclaimed for the content, the characters, the narration and the superlative performances of all the three lead actors.
Barfi! joins this year’s big box office hits Ek Tha Tiger, Bol Bachchan and Rowdy Rathore, all of which have collected Rs 100 crores and over. However, unlike these three big hits, Barfi was released in only 700 screens.
