Bangkok don Pujari threatens Bollywood bigwigs
After a lull in the activities of the underworld gangs of Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Rajan, Bangkok based fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari started making fresh threatening calls to Bollywood celebrities extolling them to pay extortion money or else face bullets.
In the last fortnight, actor-producer Sohail Khan, producer Ritesh Sidhwani and actor Vivek Oberoi received threatening calls from Pujari. All the three of them lodged police complaints.
The police said all the calls were from international phone numbers. The started investigation and refused to disclose the ransom amount demanded. Police protection and security was provided to the three celebrities.
Ravi Pujari is said to have separated from Chota Rajan and operating independently with his own gangsters. In April, four members of the Pujari gang were arrested by the Mumbai crime branch for two shootout cases that claimed two lives of construction personnel for not paying extortion money.
