Anupam Kher sued for Rs 2.5 cr by Gandhi To Hitler producers
The film Gandhi To Hitler is due to be released in theaters on July 29 and the producers of the film Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma and Nalin Singh are going to court against actor Anupam Kher seeking damages to the tune of Rs 2.5 crore.
The issue at stake is that the producers of the film have paid Rs 4 lakhs last year to Anupam Kher to play the role of Hitler. The actor also signed the contract. But before the film went on floors, Kher called for press conference and announced that he is not doing the role of Hitler as per the wishes of his fans. The project was in jeopardy and the film was later completed with Raghuvir Yadav replacing Kher in the role of Hitler.
The film which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival received rave reviews. The film is directed by Rakesh Ranjan Singh and the star cast includes Raghuvir Yadav, Neha Dhupia, Avijit Dutt, Naseer Abdullah, Aman Verma, Nalin Singh, Lucky Vakharia, Nikita Anand, Bhupesh Kumar Pandey and others.
