Amrita Rao has no films, plans theatre shows
Model-turned Amrita Rao made her Bollywood debut with “Ab Ke Baras” in 2002. She is familiar with Telugu audience with Mahash Babu’s “Athidhi”. She acted in films like “My Name is Anthony Gonsalves”, “Vivah” and “Welcome to Sajjanpur”. Her latest film “Short Kut: The Con is On” is awaiting release.
However, after acting in 17 films, she has not been offered any new film so far. She is said to have been upset with the promos of her film “Shortkut” where she is being shown more as an item girl rather than an actress.
Now, Amrita has decided to turn to theatre and explore her options on stage. The play that Amrita will be doing is an original work written by her writer friend. She will play the multi-layered challenging role. She has already started rehearsals for the stage-play.
