India’s well known Award winning director Prakash Jha who churns out realistic cinema like Damul (1984), Parinati (1988) Mrityudand (1997), Dil Kya Kare (1999), Gangaajal (2003) and Apaharan (2005) is now busy with the film “Rahniti” which stars Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar, Manoj Bajpai, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor. The film is nearing completion.
Prakash Jha is now planning a film titled “Aarakshan” which will have Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. The film is based on the controversial issue of reservations that had rocked the nation in the late 1980s. The reservations for the schedule caste and schedule tribes and other backward class were raised to 50% in educational institutions and in public sector jobs causing severe reactions from other sections of society.
Anjum Rajabali is already on the job of writing the script and screenplay and the film “Aarakshan” will go on floors as soon as “Rajniti” gets ready for release.
