Amitabh bachchan will play the role of an aging Shakespearean actor in the adaptation of V V Shirwadkar’s Marathi literary masterpiece Natsamrat. The screen adaptation has been penned by Mahesh Manjrekar who will also direct the film. The film will begin shooting in the next couple of months ahead of Big B starrer Mehrunissa.
However, Big B’s role in the film will have shades of Rituparno Ghosh’s The Last Lear where the the actor played an aging Shakespearean actor. Manjrekar says that both the roles are different in content and context.
Meanwhile, Amitabh is leaving for US for a medical check up for the frequent abdominal pains he is suffering from. He will shoot for Natsamrat after his return from US.
