According to Bollywood trade circles, Ram Mirchandani, founder & CEO, UTV Rampage Motion Pictures has signed Akshay Kumar for their next film for a whopping Rs 70 crore.
However, both Mirchandani and Akshay Kumar, while confirming the signing on for the next film, refused to comment on the remuneration part of it.
With the film Singh is Kinng being declared the super duper hit of the year, Akshay Kumar has delivered a continuous chain of hits from 2006…Phir Hera Pheri, Jaan-E-Mann, Bhagam Bhag, Namaste London, Hey Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Welcome. Only Tashan failed at the box office. His forthcoming films include Chandni Chowk to China, Blue, Eight by Ten and Kambhakt Ishq and all these films have high expectations.
Trade circles point out that Akshay could be a stake holder in this project and he could get Rs 70 Crores as his share once the film is completed and sold. Bollywood films with top stars these days are expected to rake in revenue to the extent of Rs 150 to Rs 180 crores.
