Akshara Haasan to debut with Mani Ratnam’s film
Akshara Haasan, younger daughter of Kamal Haasan, is making her screen debut with Mani Ratnam’s untitled film which is love story with a backdrop of the struggle of Rameshwaram fishermen against the Sri Lankan Navy.
Incidentally, the role of hero is being played by Gautam, son of Karthik, who is also making his debut. The film will have music by AR Rahman and the camera will be handled by Rajiv Menon.
Until recently, Akshara has worked as an assistant to noted film maker Rahul Dholakia of Parzania fame for his forthcoming film titled Society. According to sources, elder sister Shruthi Haasan is said to have persuaded Akshara to become an actress instead of a director.
