Actress Nandita Das appointed chairperson of CFSI

The Children’s Films Society of India (CFSI) encourages films for children and supports children oriented cinematic events. The CFSI also holds annual Childrens’ Film Festivals.
Actress-director Nandita Das has been appointed the new chairperson of the CFSI for period of three years by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.
Earlier, the post was held by actress-social activist Nafisa Ali. It fell vacant when she resigned to contest the Lok Sabha election from Lucknow on Samajwadi Party ticket this year.
Nandita performanced in Deepa Mehta’s films “Fire” and “Earth” and recently directed the critically acclaimed “Firaaq”.
