The Film

Aao Wish Kare is a childish attempt to please adults and not an adult effort to make a children’s film as the title suggests.

The twelve year old Mickey is happy with an affectionate family and he likes 20 something year old Mitika (Aamna Shariff). The boy is crestfallen when he comes to know a family secret and is dejected. Hitchcock (Johnny Lever) arrives on the scene with the power make wishes come true. Mickey wakes up from sleep as an adult (Aftab Shivdasani). What happens to the child-man from now onwards forms the rest of the story.

The Performances

Aftab Shivdasani and Aamna Shariff just go through their motions without much of an effort essay their roles in right earnest. Johnny Lever is his usual funny self. The child actors are OK. Rati Agnihotri and Yatin Karyekar are passable. Riteish Deshmukh does a pleasant cameo.

The Techniques

The story is old and has not been put together properly. The screenplay causes hurdles for smooth narration.

The dialogues are neither funny nor meaningful. Camera work and editing could have been better. Music-wise there is not much to write about.

Director Glenn Baretto needs to once again look into the fundamentals of filmmaking.
