Recently, Aamir Khan released the book Bachchanalia: The films and Memorabilia of Amitabh Bachchan, co-authored by Bhawana Somaaya to mark the 40 years of the legend’s illustrious career at the Tata theatre in Mumbai.
Speaking on the occasion Aamir said that since he had come from a film family, they had copies of Filmfare magazine which carried pictures of young actors struggling to make a mark in the industry. He recalled that as a kid he was laughing with disdain at some pictures of young people who were aspiring to become actors. As he grew up, he hung his head in shame because one of the pictures which he laughed at was that of Amitabh Bachchan.
Aamir Khan has said that the mega superstar aura of Amitabh Bachchan has been built on sheer talent and power house performances and not on lies. He said that it was amazing to see how Amitabh had carved a niche for himself despite the fact that the film industry was reluctant to accept him initially.
