Aamir Khan in Priyadarshan's film on AIDS

Filmmaker Priyadarshan, who won the National Film Award for Kanchivaram and dabbles in all sorts of genres from Hera Pheri comedies, to action films like Tezz, has been planning to make film based on AIDS.

This film will be without songs, comedy and free of commercial trappings. As he is scripting the film, he has Aamir Khan in mind to play an important role.

Earlier, filmmakers Revathy and Onir had explored this subject of AIDS in their films Phir Milenge (2004) and My Brother Nikhil (2005), respectively.
While Phir Milenge had a star cast that included Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Abhishek Bachchan, My Brother Nikhil featured Sanjay Suri, Juhi Chawla and Purab Kohli. Both the films failed at the box office but they received critical acclaim.
