Aamir Khan’s Son Junaid Makes Bollywood Debut

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta’s seventeen-year-old son Junaid is making his Bollywood debut as the first assistant to director Rajkumar Hirani in his maiden production Peekay starring his father Aamir and Anushka Sharma.

Hirani, who is known for writing and directing three hit films — Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and 3 idiots — is producing and directing Peekay. The film will be presented by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Junaid is now scouting for locations all over India, as the film is said to be dealing with godmen. It is not yet clear whether Aamir plays a godman or a vigilante who exposes fake godmen.

Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta, who had a small part in his debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, on 18 April 1986. They have two children, a son named Junaid and a daughter, Ira. In December 2002, Khan filed for divorce, ending the 15-year marriage. Reena took custody of both children. On 28 December 2005, Khan married Kiran Rao who had been an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker during the filming of Lagaan.
