Aa Dekhen Zara Movie Review
Aa Dekhen Zara is a stylistic spooky-camera based supernatural thriller that has the content and cinematic quintessence to keep the audience glued to their seats.
Ray Acharya (Neil Nitin Mukesh), a photo-journalist has been struggling with a professional identity crisis.
From the day he inherits a special spooky camera from his grandfather which captures the images of the future events right from possible murders to winning lottery tickets and race horses, Ray’s life changes in such a manner that he himself becomes a rags to riches saga.
The supernatural power of the camera brings to Ray some strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. He finds the woman of his life in Simi (Bipasha Basu) an exciting sexy DJ who has her own agenda in life.
However, the wonder camera also shows a gloomy end to Ray and he is pursued by baddies and conmen to get hold of the magic camera with sharp shooter (Rahul Dev) stalking him everywhere.
The rest of the film shows how Ray battles with both evil and fate as it nears the mindboggling climax.
Neil Nitin Mukesh is very impressive in this off-beat role and very well expresses himself in his typical role. Bipasha is breezy with her ebullient beauty and effortless performance.
Day by day, the typical evil facial lines seem to be firmly etched into the face of Rahul Dev who is shaping up to be the most desirable villain on screen.
All other actors are amply adequate in their respective roles.
Sheershak Anand and Shantanu Ray have written a chilling story that thrills, in spite of a lag here and a drop there. Director Jehangir Surti has effectively showcased his helming skills.
Jehangir Choudhury’s cinematography is fabulous and enhanced the narration values and so does the music of Pritam.
Editing and audiography are as they should be for a thriller genre film. The production values are high.
Aa Dekhen Zara is an eminently watch-able thriller with a novel concept and innovative conceptualization. The artistic performances match the cinematic technical skills.
