‘Kathakali’ To Hit Screens On March 18

After giving big mass commerical hits like Pandemkodi, Pogaru, Bharani, Indrudu, Puja and Jayasurya, mass hero Vishal had brought out an action entertainer titled ‘Kathakali’ under the direction of Pandyaraj on the banner of Vishaal Film Factory. Gowrikrishna of Sri Krishna Creations, who had brought out a film like ‘Veerappan’ directed by Ram Gopal Varma, had bagged the Telugu dubbing rights of ‘Kathakali’ and is making efforts to release the film on March 18 on a grand scale across both the Telugu-speaking states. Speaking on the occasion, Gowri Krishna says, ‘Already Vishaal is well-known among the Telugu audiences with his mass and action movies. ‘Kathakali’ was already released in Tamil and proved a sensational hit. The lavish movie had a good story and movement and the action episodes would thrill the audineces. So we came forward to release it in Telugu as we have complete confidence on the success of the Telugu version as well. Vishaal’s performance would remain a highlight of the flick and it would remain a milestone in his career.’ Hero Vishaal says, ‘The film was made on a different zoner. The basic subject is that the film is based on a murder mystery. Director Pandyaraj had brought out the film very well. To suit the Telugu nativity, the film runs with Vizag in its backdrop. Definitely ‘Kathakali’ will be a different commercial film. Sashank Vennelakanti penned excellent dialogues for the movie. There is a good story and a gripping screenplay. The moment Pandyaraj narrated it I felt thrilled. It has a universal appeal and would definitely attract all classes of audiences. The Tamil version which was released recently proved that all my expectations are right.’ Catherine Tresa played the heroine opposite Vishaal, while Nazar, Karunas, Shatru, Suri, Srijith Ravi, Pavan, Mime Gopi, Madhusudhan Rao and others are in the lead cast. Cinematography is by Balasubrahmanyam, music is by Hiphop Tamizha, editing is by Pradeep E Raghav, action Anal Arasu, while story, screenplay and direction are by Pandyaraj.
