‘Shool’ sequel is not possible without Manoj Bajpayee
E. Niwas has made his debut in Bollywood as a director with the film ‘Shool’. Now, he is planning to make a sequel to this National Award winning film. But he says that he will not make it without Manoj Bajapyee.
The original film was released in 1999, was based on a small-town in Bihar. The film focuses on criminalisation of politics. In this film Manoj played the role of an honest police officer who locks horns with a brutal legislator in the movie which is co-written and produced by Ram Gopal Verma.
After 15 years, Niwas is planning to make the sequel. He said, “It is the initial stage right now. I am still scripting it. I don’t know when we will start shooting. ‘Shool’ had created a benchmark, so unless it’s not the best script and unless I am not completely satisfied with the script I will not touch it.”
When he was asked about the cast, he said, “I can’t see ‘Shool’ sequel without Manoj Bajpayee. So, I don’t intend to make the film without him.
