‘Fitoor’ is Love Story is not About Terrorism
Bollywood actor Rahul Bhat is these days busy shooting for his film ‘Fitoor’ in Kashmir. On Monday she said that the film is a love story and not based on terrorism. Rahul is a native of Kashmir and he plays an important role in this film which is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. It is based on the book, ‘The Great Expectations’.
Rahul said, “It is an adaptation of the famous novel ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens. There is no relation to terrorism like the films made in the recent past.” He also said that he was overwhelmed to see the support of the locals and the administration for the film.
‘Fitoor’ also features Aditya Roy Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Rekha in lead roles. The film is being shot in the beautiful locales of the Dal lake.
Rahul was last seen on screen in the film ‘Ugly’ made by Anurag Kashyap. He says that now when the conditions have changed there is no role of police in the valley.
He said, “Personally I feel that there is no role of army here now and it should go. I went to my native place Vichernag here. The people there welcomed me; they showered me with their love and affection.”
He himself is a Kashmiri pandit and says that the issue about the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley who migrated 25 years ago after the arrival of militancy was a ‘psychological issue’.
In his words, “I would be very happy if the Pandits return and live here. I can see there is no problem, the brotherhood has not lessened. It is just a psychological issue.”
