Tata Nanos recalled: To have fire safety device
In view of the stray incidents of Nanos catching fire, Tata Motors announced that it will provide customers with an additional safety device that will be fitted on the car. The company will provide protection in the exhaust system and the electrical system.
Starting from the third week of November, Tata Motors will call existing Nano users to offer them this measure free of cost. It would be up to customers to decide whether they want it installed. The company said this was not a recall and was being done to make the car more robust and safe.
The company plans to install a cover on the catalytic converter and fuses for electrical components to avoid short circuits in new models.
