Steel price to come down by Rs 4,000
After a meeting of the leading primary steel producers on Wednesday with the Prime Minister agreed to brig down the prices of flat products by Rs. 4,000 a tonne while reducing the prices of reinforcement bars and structurals by Rs. 2,000 a tonne.
The Government has assured steelmakers that the notification on export duty on steelwould be put on hold. Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Cabinet Secretary K. M. Chandrasekhar and Steel Secretary R. S. Pandey participated in the meeting.
