Sensex reaches 10,000 mark
For the first time in 2009, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex regained the 10,000 point level Today as the overseas trends firmed up and speculators covered their pending positions on expiry of monthly settlements in derivatives.
The Sensex, which has been on a four-day winning streak, added 335.20 points (3.47%) to end at 10,003.10. The Sensex touched the day’s high of 10,061.36 and a low of 9,739.93 points.
Buying on the browses picked up following reports of encouraging US economic data along with increased new home sales which appear to allay concerns on the economic crisis getting worse.
