Satyam Raju surrenders, arrested
B Ramaliga Raju and his brother B Rama Raju surrendered to the DG of Police yesterday evening and were placed under arrest. They had been remanded with the state CID, who were said to have grilled them regarding the self confessed crime of fudging of accounts to the tune of Rs 7000 Crores.
CID IG Kaumudi said that cases under sections 420, 406, 120B and 471 of Indian Penal Code would be filed against Raju brothers. The interrogation will continue. Satyam CFO Srinivasan and some other directors may also be arrested today.
Meanwhile, SEBI officials will also confront Ramalinga Raju today and elicit information regarding the role of other directors, banks and auditors.
Ramalinga Raju’s advocate Bharat Kumar said that he would move a bail petition in the appropriate court.
