Reliance Gas for AP power plants
The Group of Ministers’ meeting headed by Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on October 23 decided that Reliance Gas corporation should supply 8.94 million cubic metres of gas per day for the gas based power plants in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Reliance gas would be producing 40 mcmd of gas in the first phase.
This allocation will help the 2000 MW gas-based power plants which have been lying idle and were being put to use for power generation from naphta.
Once the allocated gas starts flowing in for the power plants, it would help them to run the existing power plants with a load factor of 90%.
