Objectionable content case against Yahoo dismissed

A Delhi court on Monday dismissed a case against internet major Yahoo for allegedly hosting objectionable content on its site.

Administrative Civil Judge Praveen Singh imposed a cost of Rs 5000 on the petitioner Mufti Aijas Arshad Quasmi for impleading Yahoo as a party without disclosing any cause of action against it.

The websites, which are the parties to the suit initiated by Quasmi for hosting alleged objectionable “anti-religious” or “anti-social” content, include Facebook India, Google India Pvt Ltd, Google Orkut, Youtube, Blogspot, Zombie Time, Exboii, Boardreader, IMC India, My Lot, Shyni Blog and Topix.
