CBI court orders lie-detector tests on Satyam Raju
The investigating agency probing the Satyam Computers scam has been granted permission by K. Sudhakar, XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CBI Court) on Thursday to conduct brain mapping and polygraph tests on Satyam Computers B. Ramalinga Raju, his brother Rama Raju and the former chief financial officer Vadlamani Srinivas who are at present lodged in Chanchaguda jail.
CBI investigators want to use the lie-detector methods to elicit the truth from the accused in the multi-crore accounting fraud, after conventional investigation and interrogation failed to yield the desired information.
The brain mapping and polygraph tests will be conducted by Dr S. Malini of the Forensic Science Laboratory in Bengaluru or at Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad.
The CBI Court directed that the lie-detector tests must be recorded by an independent agency in the presence of the defence counsel.
