The Andhra Pradesh state Cabinet approved the proposal for the development of the sprawling 19.84 acres of AP Bhawan in New Delhi under a Public Private Partnership (PPP). A five-star hotel, an international convention centre, a guest house, cottages for the Governor and the Chief Minister, an auditorium, residential quarters and other buildings will soon come up at the Andhra Pradesh International Centre in New Delhi at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore .
The primary objective of the project is to construct an iconic green building facility. The built up area will 3.95 lakh sq.ft. This will include 170 guest rooms of five-star standard to be allotted to the government besides 310 guest rooms to be used by private guests, an art gallery and food courts in an area of 4.42 lakh sq.ft.
The project is developed under the PPP mode on a build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis by licensing the land for a period of 30 years excluding the construction period of 24 months and six months for the financial closure and obtaining of project clearances. A consortium, comprising Nagarjuna Construction Company and NCC Infra Holdings Limited, Hyderabad, has been awarded the contract.
