Mumbai Attacker Kasab Executed
Indian Union Govt finally decided to execute international terrorist Ajmal Kasab who carried out deadly Mumbai attacks on 26/11/2008 that killed 164 people and wound at least 308. After a pain taking long court trial ,a trial court on 6 May, 2010 sentenced Ajmal Kasab to death on all the 86 charges for which he was convicted. On his appeal against this verdict, Bombay High Court on 21 February 2011 and Supreme Court of India on 29 August 2012 upheld his death punishment.
Today after President Pranab Mukherjee rejected Kasab’s death sentence he was executed at 7.30AM at Yerawada jail. Kasab’s mercy petition was rejected twice by Supreme Court and even former President rejected his petition long time back.However there was lot of delay inviting huge criticism from various sections of people. However all those things are put to rest today with Kasab’s execution.
