Katrina Kaif inspires foreign models’ Bollywood dreams
With Bollywood bold enough to turn away from formula films and attempt new themes, lot of foreign actresses had a stint in Bollywood films. Many of them want more of Bollywood because of the world-wide audience appeal to these films.
There had been a number of foreign actresses in Indian films: Rachel Shelley in “Lagaan”, Antonio Bernath in “Kisna”, Brande Rodricks in “Out of Control” and Alice Patten in “Rang De Basanti”, Denise Richards in “Kambakkht Ishq” and Brazilian model Giselle Monteiro in “Love Aaj Kal”
“Love Aaj Kal” actress Giselle Monteiro decided to further test her talent in Bollywood and she stayed back in Mumbai taking lessons in Hindi.
Miss Sri Lanka Jacqueline Fernandez will make her debut in Bollywood with Big B’s “Aladin”, Miss Universe UK 2008, Liza Lazarus makes an appearance
in Salman Khan’s “Veer” and German model-turned-actress Claudia Ciesla will appear in “Karma” and Mexican beauty Barbara Mori soon to be seen in Hrithik Roshan’s “Kites”.
The inspiration for all these foreign models is obviously Katrina Kaif, who was born in Hong Kong brought up in England and rules Bollywood today without much of knowledge of Hindi.
According to sources scores of foreign models are regularly making trips to Mumbai in search of an opening in Bollywood. Writers and directors are
scratching their brains to create stories and plots and inventing characters that suit the deserving international models.
If Mumbai girls without an iota of knowledge of Telugu can shine in Tollywood, can’t non-Hindi speaking international models rule the roost in Bollywood, as Katrina has already proved?
