Jayalalithaa Re-elected AIADMK Legislative Party Chief, Would Soon take over as CM
Former Tamilnadu CM Jayalalithaa was today elected the leader of the AIADMK legislative party and would soon take over as the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. Jayalalithaa was forced to quit as the CM last year as she was jailed under the disproportionate assets case, and O.Paneerselvam took over as the CM during her absence. Now that she has been acquitted of the charges a few weeks back, she is all set to return to the top post in Tamilnadu as she no longer has an active conviction judgment against her.
The re-election of Jayalalithaa as the leader of the legislative party took place today morning as Mr.Paneerselvam quit the post. She is expected to take over shortly and it’s reported that the state might see elections sooner than next year, when her term ends.
