India’s Vanya Mishra Wins Two Top Awards at Miss World 2012 Pageant in Ordos, China

Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2012, Vanya Mishra, was awarded the coveted titles of Miss World Beauty with a Purpose and also the first ever Multimedia Award at the Miss World pageant held in Ordos, China.

The Beauty with a Purpose Award is given to the contestant who has made a special dedication to a charitable cause to help those who are less fortunate.

Vanya supports Muktangan school in Mumbai, an initiative of Paragon Charitable Trust, which provides affordable English medium education to over 2400 children across 7 Schools. More than 350 local members drawn from communities have been trained and employed as teachers in these schools.

Vanya Mishra also won the first ever Multimedia Award which is initiated this year. Contestants were judged on how they presented their web section of the Miss World website. She actively interacted with fans and shared her experience at the Miss World 2012 contest by uploading photos and video material regularly on the assigned facebook page.

Vanya Mishra was selected for the final seven for the title. However, the title Miss World 2012 went to Wen Xia Yu of China, with Miss Wales Sophie Moulds as the runner up and third place to Miss Australia Jessica Kahawaty.
