In a definite move to make its content more up to date with the latest being offered by news desks, Facebook would now allow Instant Articles-where feeds from nine different publishers would be automatically published to its mobile news feeds. These articles will load almost 10 times faster than normal news feeds and allow users to have more news and information options in its regular feeds-without having the normal 6-8 seconds gap in loading. The publishers can include their own ads in the feeds and use the revenue themselves-or enroll in Facebook’s advertizing program apart from being offered the ability to track and analyze traffic for their feeds. The nine publishers include New York Times, National Geographic, BuzzFeed, The Guradian, BBC amongst others. Instant Articles can now only be seen in the iOS version of Facebook and an update to Android is still yet to come. Users can now tap on an article to get it to load instantly-apart from having video covers automatically playing on scrolling. Do look out for the photos in feeds having options such as audio captions as well as geo-tagging abilities-where you can quickly open an interactive map by tapping them. They can also be shared individually within a feed article too.
