National Geographic Channel is planning to release a documentary on the Pakisthan social activist Malala Yousafzai soon. Malala was the youngest person to receive Noble prize, at a age of 17. She was born on July 12, 1997 advocating girls education in Pakisthan. This resulted in issuing a death threat against her by the Thalibans. On October 9, 2012, Thalibans shot Malala when she was traveling home from school.

National Geographic Channel sources reported that this documentary will be released in 45 languages in almost 171 countries. This film is being coordinated by Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim. This film will focus on the commitment of Malala and her father Zia for providing education for all the girls across the world. The documentary was scheduled to be released in early 2016.
